HCL has newly launched their vertical in Andhra Pradesh which was inaugurated by the IT minister of the State, Nara Lokesh. HCL is a joint venture between HCL Company of India and the State Street Company of USA.
The company is operational at Medha Tech Park in Vijayawada, and is expected to create more than 1,000 high-end jobs in capital markets, fund administration, and investment.
At the occasion, Lokesh said that the Andhra Government is committed to bringing economic reforms by development and providing more opportunities to young skilled manpower in the state. Indicating HCL’s launching, he further added that the opening of this centre will offer a great platform to the workforces and help in unlocking of local talent.
Shiv Nadar thanked
The minister thanked Shiv Nadar, the Chairman of HCL enterprises by stating that Nadar has accepted the invitation of setting up a branch in Andhra one year ago after a call from AP Government. Nadar is confident about HCL’s success story in Andhra and fully believes in the state’s potential, as shared by Lokesh.
Praising the works and efforts of HCL, Lokesh said that the company has created approximately 300 jobs till now and 700 are yet in the offing. The company’s branches have more than 30% Telugu employees. The Govt has allocated a land in Amaravati for HCL and the construction on the same will begin from October 8th.
1 lakh jobs target
Counting the achievements of the AP Govt, Lokesh further said that they have provided approximately 36,000 jobs in the IT sector and the target is to meet the magic number of 1 Lakh by 2019. Anoop Tiwari, Vice President of HCL technologies thanked Andhra Pradesh Govt as well as IT minister for supporting HCL technologies, giving them the opportunity to serve people of Andhra, and showering confidence on the company.
