4 bridges to be built across river Krishna
With the technical help and assistance of Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), the State Government has planned to make a long-term transportation strategy in different phases after meeting on CTTS (Comprehensive Traffic and Transportation Study).
Andhra Pradesh Capital Region Development Authority (APCRDA) has taken up the responsibility of completion of four bridges across Krishna River prominently out of nine projections. Cherukuri Sreedhar, Commissioner APCRDA would invite tenders for the proposed assignment of construction.
The accomplishment of the project will connect Amaravati from Vijayawada and Guntur. Out of total nine bridges, the construction of four bridges across Krishna will provide enhanced connectivity to the upcoming capital city, Amaravati. The tender of development of bridge between Rayapudi and Ibrahimpatnam has been awarded to L&T. The main objective of these bridges is to manage traffic and the importance cannot be denied as 27% of the traffic will move from Vijayawada to Amaravati, as shared by the Commissioner in a meeting with Technical Advisory Committee (TAC).
TAC also stated that development authorities will seek help from CTTS for evolving short, medium, and long-term transportation strategies to facilitate feasible growth of the Capital Region.
River Marina Soon
S Shan Mohan, the additional commissioner of APCRDA revealed that the 40 crore project of developing River Marina will be inaugurated in a few months and it will be one of the major tourist attractions of Amaravati, in a meeting held for coordination committee of the project. He further added that the development of River Marina is brought for the first time in the state and the process of finalizing project execution is about to complete.
