NAGA CHAITANYA ROMANTIC HERO WHO IS RARING TO GO

Early life and family

Born with a silver spoon, Naga Chaitanya’s parents are renowned actor Akkineni Nagarjuna, the son of legendary A Nageswara Rao and Lakshmi Daggubati, the daughter of movie mogul D. Ramanaidu. His maternal uncle is a celebrated film actor Venkatesh while his first cousins are actors, Rana Daggubati, Sumanth and Sushanth. Chaitanya’s parents divorced when he was a child and later remarried. While Nagarjuna married actress Amala, Lakshmi married Sharath Vijayaraghavan, a corporate executive. Actor Akhil Akkineni is his half-brother.

He spent his childhood in Chennai with his mom and once in college, he was bitten by the acting genes running through his veins. He shared his dreams with his dad and then his grooming to become an actor began in real earnest.

The blow hot blow cold courtship of “ChaySam” began in 2015 and culminated in wedding bells on 29 January 2017.

Debut and Early Movies

Naga Chaitanya is now a well-known actor in Tollywood aka Telugu cinema. His debut film Josh, in 2009 won him the Filmfare Award South for Best Male Debut Preceding the release of his first film, he signed his second film Ye Maaya Chesave co-starring Samantha which released in 2010. He received a nomination for Filmfare Award South for Best Actor Male for this movie. A reviewer from Sify.com cited “Naga Chaitanya is at home in romantic scenes. His asset is his voice and his casual acting style. Chaitanya has improved his performance from his first film. He can now confidently act in more romantic films and strengthen his position.”

This movie was a critical and commercial grosser so was his next film Sukumar’s 100% Love, co-starring Tamannaah. IndiaGlitz mentioned: “Naga Chaitanya’s action has improved from his previous films. Though his expressions fall flat at places, the music, characterization, camera and the look covers it all. His timing and grasping of his role is commendable. Though he didn’t impress with his action, he didn’t depress either. His best is perhaps yet to come.” Nevertheless, the reviewer ranted that Chaitanya should work on his dancing skills.

Runaway Hit At Box Office

But after this spate of success was the flop Dhada and Bejawada. Chaitanya’s next film Tadakha was a remake of N. Lingusamy’s Tamil film Vettai. The Hindu raved: “Naga Chaitanya shows tremendous improvement even his last outing, the debacle called Bejawada. He is in sync with his role, exudes overconfidence and seems to have had funny stunt sequences and comic portions. Reprising a role played by an established actor like Arya is no mean task and Chaitanya pulls it off rather well.” The film turned out to be a runaway hit at the box office.

Hits and Misses

The period-drama Manam, had him share screen time with his legendary grandfather, Akkineni Nageswara Rao, and illustrious dad, Akkineni Nagarjuna. He played dual roles in the film. Deccan Chronicle penned “Naga Chaitanya has done a decent job and compared to his earlier films he matured a lot as an actor.” Subsequently, Chaitanya starred in Oka Laila Kosam, a romantic comedy and his performance in the film was lauded by critics. Times of India noted that “Oka Laila Kosam is a simple love story which doesn’t quite leave you with a big smile on your face, but it has enough mojo if you are a big sucker for romance.”

A cameo played by him in the Savitri biopic, Mahanati, was a huge hit. He donned the greasepaint as his grandfather Nageswara Rao. Shailaja Reddy Alludu directed by Maruthi Dasari received mixed reviews and turned out to be a damp squib. Times of India wrote, “Some preaching, some family drama, some humour and Sailaja Reddy Alludu play safe for a festive release.” His next film, the thriller Savyasachi directed by Chandoo Mondeti fared badly.

Highest-grossing Film

The year 2019 has been the best by far for Chaitanya. On 5th April, Majili was released, in which he paired up with his wife Samantha. Majili grossed Rs 40 crore and Rs 70 crore worldwide. It is the highest-grossing film in Chaitanya’s chequered career.

Two of his unreleased movies are, Venky Mama with Uncle Venkatesh and Raashi Khanna as his heroine is slated for release in January 2019 while NC 19 will release in April next year.
