Featured in the Top 11 at the Femina Miss India Bangalore 2013, NabhaNatesh is an Indian model and now popular actress who predominantly stars in Kannada and Telugu films. In 2015, her first film Vajrakayashe starred was a runaway success, and this made her a celebrity in the Kannada film industry.
Born on 11th December 1995, at Sringeri, Nabha graduated in information science engineering from Mangalore. She started modelling while still in college. Bitten by the acting bug she took acting lessons in Abhinaya Taranga, spent time in theatre under Prakash Belawadi and assisted him in some plays.
Debut in 2015-17
Still in her teens when she made her acting debut opposite Kannada superstar Shiva Rajkumar, Vajrakaya got her acclaim from her critics and audience. The Deccan Chronicle’s described her as “a Pataka who ‘fires up’ the screen for a little longer than the others.” Times of India’s reported that “NabhaNatesh is very impressive as the tapori taking on Shivaraj Kumar.” Nominated for the Filmfare Award for Best Debut Actress-Kannada, her work is being appreciated.
Although she received critical appraisal for her performance in the filmLee opposite Sumanth Shailendra, it opened to mixed reviews from the critics and audience, and failed to attract the audience at box office.
Nannu Dochukunduvate A Hit
Her Telugu film debut opposite Sudheer Babu, with the film titled Nannu Dochukunduvate, opened to rave reviews and turned out to be a commercial hit at the box-office. She got plaudits from both critics and audiences. Her great performance won her accolades from well-known directors and Telugu actors. Even her critics were praising her; Deccan chronicle’s writer stated that “The film is a perfect launch vehicle for Nabha, who is a livewire and completely steals the show.” 123telugu’s writer said that “Nannu Dochukunduvate completely belongs to NabhaNatesh as she makes an outstanding debut. She is the life and soul of the film as Nabha breathes life into the role of Meghana. The way she performs her vivacious character makes many dismal scenes look quite fascinating. She is a fireball of energy and acting talent and will go a long way”. Nabha starring in iSmart Shankar in 2019, opposite Ram Pothineni, seems to be on a roll. The movie became a blockbuster and completed 100 days. Nabha is a mover and shaker gauged from the song, Dimaag Kharaab in iSmart Shankar. Neeshita Nyayapati of Times of India expressed, “Nabha however delivers an earnest performance with what she’s offered. The Editor of 123telugu.com asserted that “NabhaNatesh is impressive as Chandni and provides superb eye candy for the masses” and the Editor of idlebrain.com penned “NabhaNatesh did a mass character. She oozes glamour and did well” while the editor of Andhraboxoffice avers “Nabha is pretty good and proves to be an able female protagonist.”
Nabha has overcome the language barrier and speaks fluent Telugu. She does not shy away from the media, instead takes them on whenever confronted. Her speech at the Bonalu Event is viral on YouTube, with many flabbergasted to see a non-Telugu heroine speak so fluently. Supposedly, director Puri Jagannadh amazed and impressed by Nabha’s energy and performance, credited it to her theatre background. Tinsel town has been raving about her and it seems like a star is born.
