While Salman Khan and Akshay Kumar roll out films that get the cash registers ringing, there’s an underdog who’s delivering laudable performances in her films. I’m talking about Taapsee Pannu who bowled everyone over with her latest offering Game Over. When the film’s trailer was out, it was hair-raising without any doubt, but it didn’t create the buzz it should have. It went unnoticed or say only the niche audience was the one who was talking about it. However, after the release of the film clashing with Hollywood’s biggie Men In Black: International, Game Over turned out to be a surprise package. Despite locking horns, Game Over managed to pull the audience to the theatres.
Takes Film To Great Heights
Though, the Taapsee Pannu starrer was not a massive hit, it started a dialogue about how the actress single-handedly takes a film to great heights. She dedicated her artistic self to the film just like she did in Badla, Pink, Manmarziyaan and Mulk. Game Over was no surprise.
Catches Critics’ eyes
Just months before Game Over, her crime-thriller Badla released on silverscreen. Having produced by a superstar (Shah Rukh Khan) and another megastar (Amitabh Bachchan) in the lead role, Badla did pretty well at the box office. But Taapsee Pannu’s performance was the one that caught critics’ eyes. For the uninitiated, the actress was offered the role of a woman who was murdered, which means she had only little to do as per the original script. But having known about her prowess, Taapsee demanded the lead role opposite Amitabh Bachchan and the script was changed just for her. Rest what happened is just history.
Coming Months Are Promising
The coming months are also promising for Taapsee Pannu. She has not one but two films in her kitty; Mission Mangal and Saand Ki Aankh. With diverse role in each of the movie, the 31-year-old actress is all set to hog limelight again. We’re not even surprised why Taapsee Pannu is gradually becoming the Queen of Content in Bollywood. Sooner or later, it’s the talent that stays. In the crowd of star kids, actors like Ayushmann Khurrana, Taapsee Pannu, Rajkummar Rao and Vicky Kaushal are here to make sure that content remains the ‘King’.
