On the occasion of 73rd Independence Day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the nation from the ramparts of the Red Fort. The speech lasted for one hour thirty two minutes, in which he addressed about all the major issues like Triple Talaq, Article 35A, Article 370, India dream ahead of becoming a $5 trillion economy, obstacles to face on the path India is traversing and many major issues of the country.
Here are the ten highlights to take away from Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s speech on the 73rd Independence Day speech.
$5 Trillion Economy
In front of the crowd, Modi confidently expressed that India will definitely become a $5 trillion economy in the coming five years span. From the last 70 years India was a $2 trillion economy. Talking retrospectively, India became $3 trillion economy within a span of five years, i.e. 2014-2019. It’s surprisingly and also shocking that India added $1 trillion in just a span of five years which is undoable but Modi government did it.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi considered water conservation as one of the top priorities. He said, “The movement towards water conservation has to take place at the grassroots level. It cannot become a mere government programme. People from all walks of life have to be integrated in this movement”.
Meeting Global Parameters
These days’ people are not merriment about the current global changes. Everyone wants everything at their feet or in their hand. People are dejected with five star Railway Stations with Wifi. They want to know when the train arrives, when the airport is ready for the plane to take off, wanted everything at their doorstep. In order to meet the global parameters this efforts should be made.
Why to make life hard for the common man? In his speech, Modi mentioned that people should live with ease and do business with ease. He also mentioned that, as everyone have some kind of dream and aspiration to do something, excess influence of the government will be removed. So, this makes life much better and easier to live and choose what you want to do.
Instant Triple Talaq
Earlier, the government had abolished certain retrograde practices like Sati, Child marriage etc. and now its Triple Talaq. A lot of Muslim women suffered due to this bill. But abolishing of this “Instant Tripe Talaq” gave leeway to all the Muslim women from suffering.
In his speech, he also spoke about the tourism industry. Wealth creation is very important in order to run the country better. If wealth is not created and spent, there would be improper circulation of money leading to lack of development. Modi said, visit atleast 15 tourist spots across the country before 2022. This is a better way to promote tourism. Our efforts will empower the economic growth.
Chief of Defence Staff
In his speech, Narendra Modi made a major announcement about the defence forces. The country will have a post of Chief of Defence staff to integrate, coordinate and strengthen all the security forces which come under the head of defence.
One Nation – One Mobility Card
Just like the earlier GST implementation which lead to One Nation – One Tax, in the same way we also implemented the One Nation – One Mobility card for the automobile sector.
Launching Jal Jeevan Mission
We all know about the ongoing water crisis in our country. So, PM Narendra Modi launched the Jal Jeevan Mission to solve the water crisis issue to an extent. This mission is to provide drinking water for all. Rs3.5 lakh crore will used for this mission and all the state governments will be working towards this mission.
One Nation – One Constitution
Scrapping of the Article 370 and Article 35A has lifted the dream of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. Some crores of people came forward to fulfill this dream. And now every news about J&K became transparent. It is not even 10 weeks in the office, the Modi government has taken the initiatives in a very strengthening manner. Now India lives the dream of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, which is “One India – Great India” and “One Nation – One Constitution”.
Promoting Small Family
Population is one of the major problems these days, especially in terms of population explosion. It would create various hassles in the upcoming generations in terms of money, employment, survival and many more personal related ones. So Modi said that; to those who support small family, is also showing one form of patriotism towards their own country.
Making India Plastic-Free
PM Modi, in his addressing he told the citizen to stop using plastic. He spoke about making free India without single usage of plastic.
Other issues addressed
Modi also addressed about other important issues like doubling the farmers’ income by giving the optimum price for their produce. Boost of exports were another issue which was addressed too. He emphasized on the need to foster the exports.
